Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have woken up as husband and wife today. The couple, who’ve been together for four years and have two children together, tied the knot yesterday during a lavish ceremony held at Lionel Richie’s swish Beverly Hills home.
According to reports the couple had an expensive, but intimate wedding with only 130 of their closest family and friends in attendance. Celebrities including Gwen Stefani and Samantha Ronson were there to watch the couple get wed. Former BFF Paris Hilton was notably absent from the event.
An insider revealed details of the wedding to People magazine, “They wanted an Old Hollywood, glamorous feel to their wedding. Nicole wanted a memorable, elegant affair for only their closest friends and family on the day. Nicole’s wedding will be super small, and a lot of people who have played a role in her life like Paris Hilton have been cut from the guest list.”
Nicole walked down the aisle in a bespoke $20,000 Marchesa gown – we bet she looked like a princess.
The couple, who’ve get up their own children’s charity, have reportedly sold the rights to their wedding for $100,000 to a US gossip magazine, but they will donate the full amount to charitable causes.
