Piers Morgan: Cheryl Cole hasn’t got the X Factor gig 'yet'

And by gig we mean the X Factor USA job. Yes. So, a couple of weeks ago we nearly fainted with excitement when it was announced that Cheryl Cole may have landed herself a job as the new judge on the X Factor USA.

It’s just like X Factor over here but with Americans, you get it? Anyway, we digress.

At his birthday party Piers Morgan stomped all over this rumour saying that his sources are telling him she hasn’t been confirmed for the job yet. And when he said 'his sources' we took this to mean Simon Cowell, he didn’t say that though so we can’t either.

He did say however that he thought Cheryl would go down very well in the states if she were to work over there because she’s stylish and nice and stuff.

That wasn’t the only reality TV show goss Piers divulged, speaking about who will take over his role on Britain's Got Talent, he said the only person who could fill his shoes was the Hoff.

To be fair that’s not really gossip but Piers saying he likes David Hasselhoff which is kind of him. Piers was hosting a party in celebration of his new show Piers Morgan tonight which will see him take over legendary American host Larry King.

Among the guests were Naomi Cambell – Pretty, Brucie Forsyth – Not so pretty, Steve Jones – absolutely beautiful and Gordon Brown.

Yes that’s right the ex-Prime Minister turned up and no, we couldn't think of anything good to say to him.

When we throw a party we’re lucky if our best-mate bothers rock up half cut with a bottle of Lambo (that’s Lambrini obviously).

Fromn the comments I have seen online from Americans so far it seems they are decidedly underwhelmed at the thought of having Cheryl Cole over there, and that is the ones who didn't say "Cheryl who?". Those that do know of her think she has no talent and an awful accent that is hard for them to understand, those that don't want a well-known American judge instead. There is too much competition musically in the States for her to do well as a singer, even Rhianna doesn't do that well over there, most of her fans are over here. Cheryl may be a big fish in this country but she is barely a minnow in the States, all I can say is at least it will get her out of our faces over here for a while, the Yanks are welcome to her ;o)

HW you are so far up cheryl coles arse, you can't think straight. And seriously quit with always judging people by their looks, Bruce Forsyth is about 80 he's obviously not going to look absolutely perfect all of the time like you think all celebs should! Get some fucking respect!

Cheryl would go down well in places like Compton. Lots of potential victims there.

Oh come on people give her a chance!!!! Cheryl's just trying her best to be as successful as ever, even if it means ''AMERICA''. After everything's she's been through she at least deserves a bit support. Good Luck!!!

It'd probably do her the world of good. I for one am hoping they will be force-feeding her a decent size humble pie whilst she's over there. And by decent size I mean an American uber-sized portion!

What could you possibly have (good or bad) to say to Gordon Brown, HW? Are you secretly all cutting edge political journalists? Because it really doesn't seem like that with all your regurgitated, second rate stories.
