Will Konnie Huq be sacked as host of The Xtra Factor by the time the next X Factor series kicks off? It looks virtually certain, doesn't it? Ask X Factor producers and they'll undoubtedly tell you something along the lines of it being 'too early to discuss the next series of The X Factor'. Hardly a ringing endorsement.
The 35-year-old ex-Blue Peter presenter caused many a grumble amongst viewers this year with a series of embarrassing gaffes, including saying to Cher Lloyd (just after she'd been kicked out of the competition in fourth place), “What a night it has been for you, a night of dreams”.
According to production sources the man that Konnie Huq should most fear isn't too happy with her either, “Simon Cowell hasn’t been impressed," they claim, "and it seems certain she will be axed. Every week there seems to be a new mistake.”
Oh dear. But, if Konnie Huq really is shown the Xtra Factor door, then who could possibly replace her? Who has their hands up begging for the job? Step forward Jeff Brazier!
Yes, 31-year-old some time TV presenter Jeff Brazier looks to be more than a little keen on the Xtra Factor hosting gig. "I've been doing the tour and the bosses seem happy with me," he says - referring to the X Factor tour, of course. And his stint on Dancing On Ice this year is not only going to raise his profile, but help to make him the perfect host for the ITV2 show. "It helps to have been a contestant on a reality show so when you interview people you know exactly how they feel and ask the right questions," he reckons.
What about you heatworlders? Is Jeff Brazier the man for The Xtra Factor? Do you think Simon Cowell's laying in bed at night pondering his next move and thinking, what we need... is... Jeff Brazier? Really? No. Probably not. Keep dreaming Jeff. And skating, obviously...
