Samantha Womack quits EastEnders over cot death storyline
Everyone’s been talking about EastEnders’ New Year's cot death storyline, and over 3000 viewers have even registered a complaint with the BBC. Now the actress at the centre of the story has quit the soap because she’s so unhappy with the storyline. Samantha Womack, who plays Ronnie Branning, will leave the show in May. A source revealed to The Sun, “The last couple of months at work have been awful for Sam. The first time she read the script, she thought it was wrong and pushed boundaries too far. It was such a sensitive issue, she knew it would cause a huge backlash. She wrote a letter on the day she read it and made it clear to bosses she thought it was wrong. They persuaded her to stay and film the scenes, but she will leave in May. It was draining for her filming the scenes and incredibly difficult emotionally. All she could think about was the reaction of parents, especially mothers, who had lost children to cot death. She saw the story as a mother first and an actress second, which made her realise things had gone too far."

A series of messages revealed that Kate Middleton will arrive at Westminster Abbey by car, along a route that takes in The Mall, Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and Parliament Square (so plenty of gawping opportunities or anyone who turns out to watch). The service will start at 11am (bit early if you ask us). The couple, once married, will then return to Buckingham Palace by carriage where they’ll enjoy two parties hosted by the Queen and Prince Charles.
