D'oh! Ashley Cole, what were you thinking? Being the work experience lad in any workplace can be tough. There's the endless cups of tea, mind-numbingly dull 'filing' and constant requests for cans of striped paint and a 'long weight' (wait... get it? No? Oh, never mind). One thing you probably don't expect though, is to be shot...
And yes, that's exactly what Ashley Cole did to 21-year-old student, Tom Cowan, in the Chelsea dressing room last week - pulling a .22 air gun on the young lacky and shooting him in the side. Which left Tom not just in pain and shock, but with blood pouring from the wound and in need of emergency medical treatment from the club's doctors!
"Ashley pulled the rifle from a box and started larking around about with it in the changing room, not realising it was loaded," explains an insider, "it ended up pointed at Tom just five feet away. The the gun went off with a loud pop and Tom screamed as this lead pellet hit him in the side. It went through his clothing and into his flesh. He was bleeding profusely and it soaked into his training top. He was in agony and seemed to go into shock as he steadied himself and sat down on one of the benches."
Ouch. We'll bet that really did hurt! The gun Ashley Cole used is reportedly the most powerful type of gun you can legally own in the UK without a licence. What he was doing with it at the Chelsea training ground though is anyone's guess - looking our for paparazzi, perhaps? Or maybe Kayla Collins is still stalking him since their split? Either way, we don't think we'd fancy a work experience stint at Chelsea FC after hearing that news - do you?
