Every so often you come across a piece of news that is just so mental you don¹t really believe it but apparently reports that Ellen Degeneres (you know the US chat show host) and Kate Middleton (you know Prince Williams soon to be wife) are 15th cousins are true.
We know this because Ellen said so, and whatever Ellen says is right, or something like that. Ellen, whose name we seem to have said about 754 times now, received a letter from the New England Genealogical Society (sounds swanky doesn't it) to say that the pair are distant relatives linked by their ancestor English Civil War commander Sir Thomas Fairfax.
Ellen, who is clearly as excited as we would be, said of her news, "I'm definitely invited to the wedding now!. Between the Packers winning the Super Bowl and this, I'm having a good week,"
Saying to Kate, "Let me know if you need me to plan the bachelorette party. Because I found some straws that are shaped like. . . well never mind".
WOWWEE. As gossip goes just this is pretty intense/amazing/great/brilliant etc.
We're just waiting for the moment someone sends us a message that says Prince Harry is our 15th cousin and then we could get an invite the wedding and then we could kiss him.
Oh wait. Is that a bit wrong?
