Oh no, poor Kate Thornton has revealed that she has separated from her fiancé Darren Emerson after almost seven years together. The pair have a little boy, Ben, and were engaged in 2007, the same year she left The X Factor.
Kate discussed the news on yesterday’s Loose Women where she spoke quite openly about how sad she was about the situation. “As you ladies are aware I separated from Darren some time ago and we have worked through this together,” she explained. “We have come to terms with it and are now able to speak about it.” She also admitted, “There is an overwhelming emotion of sadness but it doesn't make me want to scream and shout. It makes me want to learn from it.”
It might not have been news to the Loose Women ladies but it was certainly news to us – clearly Kate and Darren have admirably tried very hard to keep things quiet for the sake of their two-year-old son, Ben. “Every relationship where a child is involved is born out of love,” Kate explained. “There is a little boy in the middle and he has to come first.”
Well at least Kate has got all her lovely LW ladies around her to keep her laughing and to help her get things off her chest. We can imagine there have been a few riotous nights out with the girls since the split. Actually, we’re not sure we want to imagine what a night out on the town Loose Women style is like.
