Cor blimey, we know The King’s Speech was up for 14 awards but boy, did it manage to sweep up at tonight’s BAFTA awards, scooping a whopping seven gongs including nearly all the biggies – Best Actor, Original Screenplay and the all important Best Film.
Other notable winners include the swoonsome Tom Hardy for Inception and Natalie Portman for Black Swan. It may have been unexpected but we were pleased that The Social Network managed to bag Best Director, fighting off stiff competition from The King’s Speech, Inception and Black Swan.
