Colin Firth wins BIG at The Oscars!
It was a night of glamour in LA last night and no one had a better evening than Mr Colin Firth. The Kings Speech actor bagged himself the coveted title of Best Actor at Hollywoood's most prestigous awards ceremony while his latest flick grabbed Best Picture, Best Original Screen Play and Best Director (for Tom Hooper).
Phew! That's a whole lotta gongs! The wins came after Colin also scooped Best Male at the UK's BAFTA ceremony a couple of weeks ago (for the second year running). Last night he said, "I have a feeling my career's just peaked," during his lovely acceptance speech just showed he's still got that humble Mr Darcy thing we all know and love.
Other big winners included Natalie Portman who took home the Best Actress award, Christian Bale who was named Best Supporting Actor and Melissa Leo who won Best Supporting Actress (the latter two we're both for The Fighter).

Alex Reid chats up an 'erotic dancer'
You would have thought he’d go for a slightly classier lady now that his marriage is over, but it seems Alex Reid just can’t help the kind of girls he fancies. This time it seems he’s opted for the ‘erotic dancer’ option - well that's what it looked like when he got chatting to Charlotte Narni at the end of London Fashion Week.
A witness, who clearly had a close eye on the pair and another eye on making a quick buck, explained how Alex and Charlotte "were clearly having a good time." Well of course they were, they were being papped, silly!
Anyway, the picture was taking while both Alex and Charlotte were in a deep conversation (although this does beg the question of whether the photo was set up or not) and he even had his phone out – looking a bit like he might be taking her number. Ooh and er!
Although if the stories from the weekend are true about Jordan getting it on with a certain ex, Amir Khan, then we can’t really blame Alex for getting on with his little life.
SATC2 scoops THREE Razzies! Whoops!
Oh dear, oh dear. After some pretty bad reviews and generally a wave of disapproval across the world, the Sex And The City 2 team have had to face the ultimate ‘bad film’ accolade – LA’s Golden Raspberry Awards.
The sequel to the actually fabulous Sex And The City scooped not one, but three awards at the Opposite-Of-The-Oscars ceremony – for the likes of Worst Ensemble, Worst Prequel, Sequel, Remake or Ripoff and Worst Actress (for all four leading ladies!).
Crikey, that’s a bit of a kick in the teeth isn’t it? Although Razzies founder John Wilson had a very valid point when he said, “It was released in the middle of a period of American history when everyone's scrounging not to lose their homes. And these women are riding around in Rolls-Royces, buying expensive shoes and just throwing money around like they're drunk."
Other Razzies winners (or losers) included Ashton Kutcher who was voted Worst Actor and Jessica Alba who headed up the Worst Supporting Actress category.
