Blimey, we’re in the wrong job. And so are you. It seems we all should actually be aiming for TV stardom as a comedian – or a cheeky funny-man who creates laugh-out-loud shows and plays a cheesy boss-bloke on an exceedingly popular comedy. Because that man-of-similar-talents, Ricky Gervais, has just confirmed he's worth a mighty $85 million (£53 million in our world). Crazy eh?
The Office creator confirmed the total figure on his official blog after rumours did the usual Internet circles. He said (rather sarcastically), “Wow! I think there must be a leak at my accountant’s. They are of course spot on.”
Ricky shot into the limelight in 2001 when he unleashed the mighty Office into our lives and has since gone on to star in films, do more stand up, take his show to America and host the Golden Globes. He continued, “I know it sounds a lot, but remember, I donate a lot of this to good causes (the Inland Revenue mainly).”
So, he’s rich. Anyone else thinking Ricky should buy us all lunch? Everyone free tomorrow, yeah?
