You know you are pretty damn famous when you can sell a lump of your own hair for $40,668.
Justin Bieber decided that if he was going to chop of his famous fringe then it wasn’t just going to end up on the barber shop floor like us mere mortals. Oh no, instead the Bieb gave his precious locks to Ellen DeGeneres (random), who decided to flog the hair on Ebay to raise cash for charity.
After racking up a tidy 98 bids and shooting up to $10,000 within the first hour, the hair, which came complete with a signed perspex box for safe keeping, went for $40, 688 to a unknown bidder with the money on its way to animal-rights group, the Gentle Barn Foundation.
We know it’s for charity but $40,688 for a box of teenage boy’s hair? If someone has that sort of capital to be spending on Bieber's mop then the world has surely gone just a bit mad? Suppose it could look nice on the mantelpiece?
In other news aside from trading in one's tresses, Justin has not been so charitable elsewhere, reportedly giving photographers a not so kind middle finger as he left an LA restaurant. However, as he is a extremely polite young thing at heart, he has since apologised on Twitter saying:
"Had a great [birthday] and at the end of the night we got surrounded by paps and I reacted in a way I know better. I'm sorry #killthemwithkindness."
