There really is nothing like a good old celeb feud, is there? Tonight's contenders are Katy Perry and Calvin Harris who have engaged in a very public slagging match, following the DJ's last minute decision to drop out of Katy's UK tour.
Katy took to Twitter to vent her feelings (never a good idea) posting: ‘Calvin Harris will NOT be joining in on the fun and has CANCELLED last minute.’
Trying to explain, Calvin replied: ‘Sorry to all who wanted to see me with Katy – her team suddenly moved the goalposts and I was to appear on stage with no production.’
Now, Katy was having none of this goalpost nonsense and quickly tweeted back: ‘The goalpost seems to be perfectly fine for New Young Pony Club, Yelle, Robyn, Marina & The Diamonds, to name a few. Or how bout Janell Monae and her 16 piece band… It’s fine, I’m used to you cancelling on me, it’s become ur staple!’
Oof! But Calvin was determined to get his side of the story across, posting in response: ‘It would have looked s***, sounded s*** - trust me you would have been more disappointed SEEING the show than u are with me cancelling.’
He even apologised, posting: ‘I’m really sorry @katyperry I’m just upset because I really wanted to play but ur team made it impossible.We tried really hard to sort it out, but playing side of stage for 30 mins, it just seemed pointless me even being there’.
However, Katy Perry fans are a tough lot and the apology was too late, fans were already sending Calvin horrid tweets, to which the DJ tweeted: ‘WTF are Katy Perry fans telling me to KILL MYSELF on twitter for? Seriously. I’m a producer making music. Leave me alone please thanks x’
Just call it Selena Gomez syndrome mate.
But the show must go on for Katy and so far no replacement has been announced... we think we might just know the ideal candidate.
