All this chat of Christina Aguilera getting banged up for boozing has got us reminiscing about times when celebs have delusionally believed they’re above the law. And here, in no particular order, are our most bizarre and fave criminal offences of the stars…
Dane Bowers and the ring of Meow Meow
What an epic fall from grace. One minute you’re singing about wanting to “lick you up and down” and duetting on auto-tune classics with Posh Spice, the next you’re peddling cheap pseudo-drugs to ravers. The years haven’t been kind to old Bowers who was arrested in November last year for an alleged plot to sell mephedrone, the party drug AKA Meow Meow. Now that’s just Another Level of stupid (sorry).
Dina Lohan and the Ice Cream Cake Chronicles
We’re not sure what a Carvel ice-cream cake is, but by the chaos caused when Lilo’s mom-ager tried to blag an illegal freebie it must taste like sweet holy nectar.
Dina rocked up with her other daughter (remember her?) Ali’s VIP black card for the store, and tried to get a free ice-cream cake through on the sly. The eagle-eyed cashier noted that Dina wasn’t a 14 year old girl and told her she’d have to pay, like everyone else. An almighty row followed that resulted in police helicopters being called (!) and got Lohan senior a caution. She said on her release: “It just shows how we get treated so much worse than regular people.”
Cheeky Girls and the shopping basket of doom
One half of everyone’s favourite Romanian pop singers received a caution after Gabriela Cheeky Girl was caught trying to shoplift £40 worth of groceries. And a bottle of Appletiser. Apart from the fact that Gab’s regulation skimpy bikini hardly gave any options for concealing the stolen items, she was hardly a dab hand as she was busted straight away.
Thankfully, her ever-present mum Margaret was able to clear the situation up, and said Gabs was getting into a film role: “She found it very difficult to think about getting into the role as the wife of a gangster. Also she was bored. She decided she wanted a buzz to see if she could become a gangster. She was desperately worried she couldn't do it.”. Right…when’s the film out, Gabriela?
