David Arquette will be the first to admit that he has been through a hard time lately following his split from his wife Courtney Cox. Shortly after the pair decided to separate David checked himself into rehab due to dependency issues, after receiving treatment he was then involved in a horrific car crash… quite simply, it’s not been his year.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, the actor said, “I went through a hard time, but anyone who goes through something like this will know that it's difficult. There are points in people's lives where they have to take a look at their behaviour, what they're doing… and what they want to do for the rest of their lives. For me, it was a choice of sobriety. I'm doing... everything I can to stay sober and, sort of, be true to myself.”
The star has already managed to stay sober for over 100 days and revealed the support form his family and friends has helped him move forward. “My family and friends have been amazing... I really just can't say enough about how much I love them.”
At the premiere of Scream 4 in New York, David spoke to People Magazine about working with Courtney, “I'm her biggest fan,” he said. “I love what she brings to this role; there's such a badass in her. We had a great time. We're really supportive and loving and kind to each other, so that's really what's important. I loved acting opposite Courteney. We don't have that opportunity a lot, and it's a different way of working together. We have so much fun.”
We’re glad to see him back on his feet.
