We’ve all been placing bets/speculating/getting the magnifying glass out/generally staring shamefully at this picture trying to figure out whether Nicole Richie is indeed pregnant or whether she just has an unusually large lunch. And it turns out, it’s very much the latter.
The mum-of-two has taken to that ‘classic’ method of tweeting to tell the world that she is NOT pregnant and that she wishes we’d all pipe down and stop suggesting it.
She told E! News (we’re guessing probably with an angry face on from the tone of this statement), “Contrary to recent speculation, I am not pregnant. This irresponsible reporting continues to feed an atmosphere of self-doubt and insecurity. To publicly point out a change in anyone's body is mean-spirited and cruel. People's bodies change and change again. This is not newsworthy and is a waste of valuable media space that should be used for more important issues."
Well she has a point about the body change part, but we’ll be honest - we were just massively excited that Sparrow and Harlow might be getting a new brother or sister to play with. You know how much we love a celebrity baby to coo over. Just look at how much we adore Suri, Maddox and little Cruz. ‘Massively’ is how much we adore them! But alas it seems on this occasion Nicole was sporting nothing but a bulging t-shirt and a food baby. And we’re going to have to accept the Richie-Madden clan will remain as a four, for now.
