The Larry Crowne premiere will now go down in history as the moment when TOWIE came face to face with their Sloaney nemeses (especially since no one’s even heard of that Larry Crowne film). We knew it was going to happen one day – after all Essex isn’t all that far from the Kings Road – but who would have guessed they were all going to get on like a house on fire?!
A baffled Tom Hanks looked on as the Made in Chelsea massive made their first big red carpet appearance, alongside such megastars as Nicola McLean, Kerry Katona and Mel B’s sister Danielle. Luckily some of the Essex crew, including Lydia Bright, Sam Faiers and Joey ‘the reemest of them all’ Essex, were on hand to give them some invaluable posing tips.
They must have hit it off because they merged into a glossy-haired, fame-hungry hybrid gang and moved on to the next glamorous event together!
When we saw the pics of Arg’s big cuddly arms wrapped around a Union Jack adorned Ollie Locke we thought we died and gone to ‘constructed reality’ heaven. Of course, photo ops are like catnip to reality stars so once the rival parties sniffed out a publicity goldmine, we were treated to all sorts of wonderful Chelsea/Essex combos.
As much as we’d love to see Amy vajazzling Cheska and Binky or an Ollie/Arg/Mark bromance triangle, we have to admit that we’re a little disappointed there were no Gucci handbags at dawn.
Guess we’ll just have to wait for the rough-house Geordie Shore lot to get in on the act.
