We're feeling sorry for Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace today. Not only is she dealing with the loss of her friend Amy Winehouse, but the former Big Brother star is also being accused of leading Amy astray just days before her death.
Speaking on This Morning, Aisleyne took the opportunity to defend herself, as she revealed that she’s received hate messages online,
“A certain journalist said that I was seen with her a few days before... and we'd got out of a cab and she'd collapsed and that I helped her in. He also said I need to ask myself basically what I was thinking of being in that situation with Amy when she was perhaps quite fragile, but there's absolutely not one scrap of truth in it,” she told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
"The last time I saw Amy was before I went to Ireland, I was filming in Ireland, that was months ago. About two months ago. It's devastating. I'm heartbroken anyway at losing Amy, I just want her back. Then to have this thrown at me and all the Internet hate that I'm getting now. The messages have just been vile. And it’s hard because it’s not true either."
“She was a wonderful person”
Like many of Amy’s friends, Aisleyne also paid tribute to the late singer and revealed that far from sharing wild nights out they would gossip about boys and drink tea.
"She was wonderful. She was just a wonderful person. The papers are saying that the last time I was with her I was drinking, when in fact the last time I was with her I was in her house, in her kitchen, and we were drinking tea having a girlie gossip, as I would with any friend just talking about guys. When we met, we just clicked straight away and it was a friendship rather than being in awe of her. She was just a fantastic woman who made everyone comfortable. She was very loving... very loving.
The Reality TV star finished by saying, "I just hope that she's remembered for her amazing talent and how beautiful a person she was."
