We’re getting emotional and a little teary just thinking about the end of the Harry Potter movies – so we can understand why Daniel Radcliffe cried on the last day of filming.
Dan’s pretty much spent half his life being Harry Potter, and speaking about the end of filming to Larry King for a CNN Potter special, he admitted to feeling sad about it all coming to an end, , “I've had such an amazing time on Potter,” said Dan, “and it's been such an extraordinary experience to work with. It's actually the same group of people for 10 years. You develop such close bonds with so many people it feels odd that, although those bonds will still exist in the future, it feels very strange to not be going back to work with them next year."
As for the final day on set, Dan-Rad recalls, “[It was] very, very emotional. I remember I kind of wept like a child on my last day." Aww, that’s so adorable.
Although Dan admits to being sad about the end of Potter, he’s not keen for there to be any more books or movies, "I think that would be a bit odd,” continues the actor, “ I'd be very skeptical about that. First of all, I don't think that [Rowling] will [write another Potter installment] and second of all, oh, I don't know, the idea of going back to something after 10 or 20 years?"
As sad as we are about the end of the Potter series, we think Dan has a point – but what do you think? Would you like to see JK Rowling write more Harry Potter books eventually?
