Not entirely convinced that the Alex Reid and Chantelle Houghton relationship isn’t a showmance? Well, Chan and Alex are fed up with all the doubters, so they’ve sat on a sofa on daytime telly to convince the world that they really are in luuuurve.
Chatting to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on This Morning for their first-ever TV interview together, the couple did everything to convince the sceptics out there that their love is real.
Referring to his recent(ish) divorce from Katie Price, Alex said, "I know what the real thing is. I was very nervous when I first met Chantelle not to go straight in, because my heart was still a bit broken back then, but she's mended it. It feels like there's no pressure - at first I was a bit stand-offish and I was like 'hold on' – I was scared of love after for better for worse."
While Chantelle was just as emphatic about her feelings for her new man, telling the nation, "Obviously I've got a lot going on personally as well, but Alex has been amazing, he just makes me feel so secure and happy and just made me feel complete, really." The 28-year-old explained, “We've literally had the same sort of experience and been through the same sort of things. I always call him [Alex] The Hurricane – he walks into the room and he's literally like a hurricane, he walks in and lights up the room and makes everyone feel good about themselves – and he does, he makes me feel really good about myself and I haven't felt like that in a long time."
When asked if they were in love they both answered, “Well, yes,” and held hands.

Alex and Chantelle also revealed how they got together, with Alex explaining, “I actually met her when she was with Rav and I was friendly with him. I was really stand-offish and didn't even look at her like that. Then I met her at another event and asked if she was with Rav and she said, 'It wasn't quite... you know', and then we actually properly met at the Fate Awards [in Northern Ireland, Belfast] and the weirdest thing was, we were put together and I thought it was a fix, on the same flight sitting next to each other and I was like, 'This is weird'...”
