Chris Evans is recovering after surgery to have some “pesky” pre-cancerous cells removed. The Radio 2 DJ proved to be as chipper and upbeat as usual after his bowel cancer scare and subsequent operation to have some growths removed during a colonoscopy,
“A couple of pesky potential future little problems were discovered and swiftly removed,” Chris told The Sun. “But other than that, I'm afraid you're stuck with me for a few years longer at least. And please, if you or anyone you know may have any worries down below, get them checked as soon as poss. This type of enemy is one hundred per cent beatable – providing you don't give it chance to fire the first shot."
While it’s all a bit icky to think about, it is 100 per cent good advice from Chris, so good on him for being able to talk about it and raise awareness.
The millionaire broadcaster also praised the nurses who helped to look after him during his time in hospital, saying, "Usual story, everyone here should be paid a million pounds a minute. But of course they're not. The angels that gave me my paper underpants before, and made me one of the nicest cups of tea I've ever had afterwards, go by the names Lorraine and Bernie."
We’re glad to hear Chris is doing well, and we hope he at least sent Lorraine and Bernie a nice big box of chocolates to say thank you.
