We’re fascinated by odd celebrity friendships, and this particular paring has to be one of the strangest ever. Actress Emma Stone has revealed that she’s pals with Beatles legend Paul McCartney!
This brings up all sorts of questions, like, how did they meet and what do they do when they hang out? Well, we can tell you.
The star of Easy A met Sir Paul in 2009 at a dinner party at the actor Woody Harrelson’s house (we wonder who else was on the eclectic guest list?) and the pair struck up a friendship.
“I wrote him a letter later in the year,” Emma tells Digital Spy. “He drew three different drawings of blackbird feet on the (reply) letter and my mum, my dad, my brother and I all have it tattooed on our wrist. My dad and I have it on our left wrists and my mum and my brother have it on their right wrists. It's pretty cool. I look at it every day. Every time [McCartney] sees it, he touches it, and at the BAFTAs he kissed it. He's the greatest guy."
Emma also hangs out with Paul backstage at his concerts, and most recently she took along her Crazy Stupid Love co-star and general hunk Ryan Gosling. “I've seen him multiple times... Ryan and I went to the concert the other night and we got to go backstage and hang out with Paul McCartney and the tiny harmonica that he hides in his pocket. It was really great. The whole thing is surreal."
Surreal? Emma, you’re not wrong
