Florence Welch, Noah & The Whale, James Blunt, Chris Martin, Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons… the music industry is full to the brim with posh pop stars.
And it seems as if another prim and proper lady is to join their ranks. Keira Knightley, better known for clutching her cardigan about her shoulders and appearing scared (acting), has decided to take up the drums (walloping).
She’s also learning how to play the guitar, courtesy of boyfriend and Klaxons squealer James Righton, who’s teaching her the ropes (or strings).
A source said, “Keira is turning into a proper rock chick. She might be as posh as they come, but she has no qualms about letting herself go on a drum kit.”
A source, talking to The Sun, added, “She’s a quick learner, too, so it won’t be long until she can play at a decent level.”
This sudden interest in rawk ’n’ roll could very well lead to Keira giving up her brilliant, pouty acting career.
But that could be a good thing – she could join the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Juliette Lewis, Zooey Deschanel and Jamie Foxx in making fairly decent music.
Or it could be a bad thing – she might end up part of the David Hasselhoff, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jared Leto brigade.
But NEVER FEAR. Apparently it’s just a hobby, a part of the lifestyle she’s adopted since dating a guy in a band. Before, when she was seeing Rupert Friend, she used to fop about central London eating sushi and going to the theatre, dahhhling. But since meeting James at a party in March, her lifestyle seems to have changed. In that she now plays the drums.
