As you may remember, The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright and his pals Jack and Lewis Tweed (yes, Jack Tweed as in the widower of Jade Goody) found themselves in trouble with the law over an alleged nightclub attack in January this year.
The trio got in a scuffle with Tom Grantham, 21, who allegedly said he would throw a brick through Deuces Bar And Lounge in Essex. A fight broke out and Mark, Jack and Lewis found themselves in court as a result of the scuffle.
Today, Mark was in court to answer the charges and was found not guilty of using threatening behaviour. Magistrate Glen Pierre said of the case, “Mr Wright found himself in the middle of a violent situation, and events happened very quickly. We cannot tell from the CCTV if there were punches and if they connected. There is no evidence to contradict Mr Wright's evidence that he felt he was being threatened."
The Reality TV star also gave a statement outside the court, saying, "I appreciate the consideration of the court in clearing me of this charge. I am happy with the verdict, which I believe is the correct one. I am now looking forward to putting this behind me. I would like to take this opportunity tothank all those who have stood by and believed in me – that includes of course my family and friends, everyone associated with TOWIE and my legal and management teams."
Tweed pleads guilty
So, what of Jack Tweed’s involvement? The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting Tom Grantham, stating that he attacked the 21 year old after allegedly hearing him mention something about petrol-bombing the bar. Both Jack and Mark have invested money in Deuces, and the club was the target of an arson attack in October last year.
The case has now been adjourned until 16 August, and Tom Grantham did not attend the two-day hearin
