We do love a celebrity love story here at heat, but when we heard Demi Lovato was hooking up with the ridiculously hot Ryan Phillippe, we raised a collective eyebrow. Yes, they would make a very attractive couple, but there’s one little thing – she’s 18, and he’s 36. But as Aaliyah once sang, ‘age ain’t nothing but a number’, so we were prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt.
But almost before any rumours of their romance could get off the ground, a source has come out and poured cold water on the Lovato/Phillippe flames of love. Boo.
“This is not true. He’s totally single,” a source told US magazine People.
Let’s go back to the earlier rumours. Demi and Ryan were allegedly having a “casual fling” before things got serious between them – and then there was the mystery of his ex, Alexis Knapp, having a baby, with him in the delivery room, even though he’s never been confirmed as the father. All this while he was dating Amanda Seyfried. We can hardly keep up.
We sort of wish they had been dating, because Demi deserves a hot man in her life. She’s had a pretty tough year, and we’d like to see her with a hottie on her arm. And she has a history of getting attractive men. Joe Jonas, anyone?
