When we first saw the pics from Vanessa Hudgen’s new film Gimme Shelter, we were agog. Not only did she look a bit unkempt (but still hot, weirdly), but she had hair about seven inches shorter than normal. “It’s a wig,” we thought, as did around 98.7 per cent of the population. BUT NO. In pursuit of her art, Vanessa hacked off her hair to leave her with her new, short ‘do. No fancy hairdressers involved, just more her, her director, and a big pair of scissors. And lots of hair on the floor afterwards.
Yes, we know she's got nice long hair in this picture, but we thought we'd remind you of the 'before' look. She unveiled her new hair at an event in LA last night with Hayden Panettiere, who was also once in Vanessa’s Short Hair Club. Safety in numbers, perhaps?
And now V’s spoken out about her image change, explaining, “I grabbed the scissors and started cutting my actual hair and then my director decided that he was going to grab the scissors, he grabs a chunk of my hair and just chops it.
"It's really intense. I'm still getting used to it.
"Honestly, I kind of feel like a soccer mum, but we're going to let that go. There's nothing wrong with soccer mums, but I'm only 22!"
