So, the news at the weekend that Sex And The City would be returning to our screens in TV show form had us cracking out the Cosmopolitans, scouring the world (well, Facebook) for our real life Mr Big’s, and put a real spring in our Converse-d Manolo-heeled step (it didn’t really, we just wanted to squeeze YET ANOTHER SATC cliché in the opening line of this story).
But sadly it’s not to be. Our joy was short lived. SATC types have stepped forward to rubbish the claims that producer Darren Starr was keen to take the show back to the telly, despite Sarah Jessica Parker being reluctant to sign up after the second SATC film was slagged off to the hilt by critics. It was also rumoured she would take a hand in producing the show,
But a spokesperson for SJP has piped up and denied the reports, saying the story is “completely false”. To say we’re upset would be something of an understatement.
We’re off to have a little cry (and rewatch our SATC box set for the squillionth time).
