One Direction may have a grown-up job and millions of girls after them, but, as revealed today, they’re still made to feel like naughty schoolboys by Simon Cowell.
Simon has banned his Syco colleagues from giving the boys his phone number, in case they put it on Twitter. Give them some credit, Si! Well, no actually, they’ve done it before. Harry told Hits Radio, “We would not be trusted with his number because me and Louis once gave out Matt [Cardle]'s number on a Twitter cam.”
They were trying to prank-call Matt while on a webcam feed, but he didn’t pick up and so the answerphone read out his number to over 7,000 fans. Harry explains, “It was an accident, don’t judge us.” Oh, OK then, we forgive you. Giggle, blush, etc.
But Daddy Si isn’t quite as sympathetic and has taken phoning privileges away from the lads, bringing the People Who Don’t Want To Be Phoned By One Direction quota up to…one. Probably.
Will Young wants to join One Direction
Meanwhile, Will Young has revealed that he wants to join the band. "I love One Direction. Love them. I would very happily be a sixth member of One Direction," he says. Is Will recalling his Pop Idol days maybe? No, actually. His desire to be a 1D-er is because of their “youthful skin”.
Hate to break it to you, Will, but we think that’s down to their, er, youth, rather than the magic of being in a boyband.
