Today saw the launch of BBC Children In Need POP Goes The Musical 2011, which will see Peter Andre, Stacey Solomon, Melanie C and the Sugababes popping up in some huge West End Musicals.
Whilst at the launch, Peter Andre confessed his frustration over not being approached to take on the role of leading man in The Bachelor (the show which sees a lot of ladies fighting against each other to get their hands on an eligible bachelor - Gavin Henson bagged that title), although he admitted that he wouldn’t be able to kiss the ladies on the show knowing that his children, Junior and Princess, were watching. Cute!
On the topic of children he also joked with Stacey Solomon about how they both have won ‘Mum and Dad of the year’ despite them both being divorced… Erm, Stacey corrected him on the fact that she has never been married. Easy mistake Peter!
Peter also confessed that despite his two friends, Kerry Katona and Amy Childs, doing great in the Celebrity Big Brother house, he actually wants Paddy, from My Fat Gypsy Wedding, to win the show. Don’t worry Pete, we won’t tell your friends that you’re failing to support them…
Speaking about his involvement with POP Goes The Musical, he said, “I was so impressed when I went to see GHOST the Musical. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. So when I was approached by BBC Children In Need to get involved, I jumped at the chance and just hope that I can do it justice! The cast are great so it'll be so much fun working with them and raising money for an amazing cause all at the same time.”
These celebs will be supporting this wonderful charity and popping up in the following performances:
10th September 2011 – Wicked – with Stacey Solomon (Matinee Performance)
13th September 2011 - We Will Rock You – with Melanie C
14th September 2011 – Ghost the Musical – with Peter Andre
15th September 2011 – Mamma Mia! – with Sugababes
