It might sound like a lot of money but £2million was only a fraction of what Amy Winehouse had made during her tragically short life.
Yesterday reports were published saying the singer had only £2million left even though, in 2008, Amy made The Sunday Times Rich List with an estimated £10million. So what happened to Amy’s cash?
According to sources, Amy spent a lot of her money on drink and drugs. The source told The Daily Star that, “Even though Amy spent thousands on drink, drugs and hangers-on, she was still a rich young woman.”
Heartbreakingly, the source goes on to say that, “Had she beaten her issues with drink, she would almost certainly have lived a worry-free and comfortable life. It is sad that having beaten drugs, she never got the chance to enjoy the money she worked so hard to produce.”
Since the star’s death in July, doctors at the hospital where Amy was treated have said there has been a 25% increase in the number of people booking themselves in for treatment.
It has also been reported that Amy’s friend Mark Ronson mentioned the singer in a speech at his wedding to Josephine de la Baume in France over the weekend.
