Looks like congratulations are in order on this sunny Saturday – to Liz Hurley and her cricketer fella Shane Warne, who reportedly got engaged last night!
The pair, who have been dating for just 10 months, were out having a romantic dinner together in a restaurant at the Old Court Hotel in St Andrews. According to witnesses, Shane pulled out the ring in front of all the VIP guests at the very snazzy Road Hole Eatery - and while everyone whooped and clapped, a smiling Liz said ‘yes’ to her man.
A beady-eyed witness recalled the happy occasion, saying, “To the delight of gathered diners, Miss Hurley is said to have accepted. He didn’t get down on one knee, but when it was announced the other guests in the restaurant stood up and applauded. Everyone there was absolutely delighted.”
Liz and Shane were said to have been attending the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in St Andrews when the super-sweet proposal happened and friends of the 42-year-old cricketer say he’s been planning to ask 45-year-old Liz to marry him for a while now, despite their short union.
In the 10 months they’ve been together, we’ve seen Shane completely change his appearance – wearing smarter and more chic clothing and looking far younger. Liz of course has got all the credit/blame for the changes, although both have denied any surgery was involved. And we believe them obviously. Ahem.
UPDATE: The happy couple have been out and about today, flashing the beautiful ring Shane gave Liz last night. In fact, Liz has spent the morning supporting her fiance at the Alfred Dunhill Links Pro-Am Championship in St. Andrews. And from the picture above, it looks like the pair are very loved up. Hurrah!
