The Duchess of Cambridge has proved she’s still in touch with us commoners by shopping in Topshop and queuing up to pay like any other normal girl, and not someone who’ll be the actual Queen of England one day!
Even better than spotting Kate lining up with us civilians, one eagle-eyed shopper also noticed that Kate had a wallet full of reward cards (that is some very good snooping). See? She really is just like us!
One web blogger on GetWhatKateWore.com who spotted Kate on her low-key shopping trip excitedly told other Kate fans,
“I saw all her rewards card, she had to shift through them to find her Visa card. It seemed like she was trying to hide behind her long, thick hair. Mind you, her hair was immaculately done. You must see Kate's hair in person. It is beyond perfect!"
Kate was seen in the Kensington branch of Topshop, and where the staff were impressed with how down-to-earth the royal seemed. One employee told The Evening Standard,
“She had used the fitting rooms and queued like everyone else. She was shopping like an ordinary person.”
Now for the most important part of the story: what did Kate buy? The Duchess walked out with a £65 royal (natch) blue cropped blazer, a £38 green and black pencil skirt (which heatworld bought two weeks ago) and a pair of earrings for £8.50.
We can’t wait to see Kate publicly debut her new purchases.
