OMG! Katie Price has reportedly become a victim of fraud! The model turned businesswoman has had to cancel her credit cards as a reported £14,000 was withdrawn from one of her bank accounts. It's bad timing for the former model who has only recently split from her ex-beau Leandro Penna.
In the grand scheme of things, to a woman with that kind of wealth, it’s probably the equivalent of when we left that £10 note on a night-bus that time (in other words, it’s a sore point). But still, very scary stuff indeed! Katie told TheMirror,
"It is just terrifying that this could have been allowed to happen...It's really horrible. All I know is that police have footage of these people pretending to be me."
One of the fraudsters is even alleged to have posed as the star at a bank counter. Katie only realized that the money had been taken from her account when 3 of her cards were declined whilst on a shopping trip in Brighton. When Pricey called the bank, a telephone operator informed her that only 24 hours earlier, someone had called up posing as her.
Lincolnshire Police are working alongside HSBC’s fraud department to track down the culprit/s after they recovered CCTV footage of a woman in a blonde wig and sunglasses trying to withdraw cash from the bank. Hmm..Sounds familiar, we imagine the entire female cast of both TOWIE and Hollyoaks are quaking in their jeggings and ridiculously high-heeled boots.
Katie has since reportedly received the money back from the bank. Well, we'll be giving The London Transport Office a call for that tenner then.
