It’s not an exaggeration to say that Australian comedies Summer Heights High and Angry Boys are two of the best things we’ve ever seen on telly, EVER – so when we a) learned he was in the country and b) got offered tickets to go and see the show’s creator and star, ACTUAL CHRIS LILLEY, do a gig last night, we almost keeled over with excitement.
Chris was performing as his Angry Boys rap alter ego SMouse in a tiny venue in north London, and oh how we LOLed our faces off. It was actually amazing. Lots of three legged dogs, his partner in crime Danthony, and some scantily clad dancer types.
In the audience, we spotted loads of people dressed as Summer Heights High's Ja’mie in school uniform, a few celebs (The League Of Gentleman's Reece Shearsmith and Dr Who’s Karen Gillan) and basically just a room full of Chris Lilley megafans. Like us. And we’re not ashamed to admit it.
Angry Boys is out on DVD now
