Mel B names her baby girl Madison Brown Belafonte

Mel B and Stephen Belafonte’s new born daughter has a name! The little one – who was born in Los Angeles last week – is called Madison Brown Belafonte.

Mel spilled the baby name beans to E! News, and we think Madison is very cute name indeed.
Scary Spice has previously tweeted that big sister Pheonix Chi was going to be responsible for naming the new arrival, she said on the social networking site, "Phoenix wants to pick her sisters baby name,so fingers crossed she picks a good one!!" Then later on, Mel added, "Phoenix has named our baby girl the cutest name, can't wait for you guys to hear it, soon ma peeps!!"

    I always think of the mermaid from splash when I hear the name Madison. I loved that film! I did add that I didn't call my sister Ariel lol.

    ah my 11 year old is called Madison, after the mermaid from Splash! don't think id have another called Ariel though! My twins Flotsam and Jetsam don't mind their names though.......

    I know. I think it's nice to ask the older siblings to have some input. It totally made me feel like the real big sister and stopped any possible 'new baby' jealousy.

    I like Ariel, but woundn't be able to ever use it bacause of the mermaid and the washing powder.

    I chose Louise. She was born in 1989 and I was just 6. I liked Ariel too but it's cause I was obsessed with that film when I was wee ha!

    Mum let me name my sister when she was born. She 'suggested' names for me though, incase I chose Ariel or Barbie lol. I expect that's what Mel did.

    madison is a nice name, dont worry its not like this baby will get a big deal made. maybe calling your babyy harper 7 would get you critisced, but not madison. my boss named his son Kai two weeks before the rooneys
