Breaking News: Kim Kardashian to file for divorce

Breaking News: Kim Kardashian to file for divorce

Kim Kardashian is going to file for divorce after only 72 days of being married to Kris Humphries. Harsh.

The separation act will be listed today (31 October) and Kim has hired top lawyer, Laura Wasser to act on her behalf.

Laura has been previously hired by Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, so Kim is taking it seriously. heatworld is unable to confirm reports that Kris has hired Robocop, Mr T and a dinosaur to argue his case.

Kim is said to be seeking a divorce on the grounds of 'irreconcilable differences'.

The split shouldn’t require that much work, Kim had a cast-iron pre-nuptial agreement in place before the couple married. After all nothing says romance like comprehensive legal documents.

The rumours of a split between Kim and Kris have been around for weeks after the couple were both spotted without their wedding rings and Kris moved out of their apartment together.

Kris was spotted moving out of the very posh Gansevoort Hotel in New York last week where the couple had been living. That's never a good sign.

The Kardashian Wedding

Kim and Kris had a lavish multi-million pound wedding on 20 August, and they even renewed their wedding vows only five weeks later, because that's what everyone does, right?

Kim and Kris renewed their vows on the Ellen DeGeneres’ chat show, so that everyone who couldn’t make it to their mega exclusive wedding could see a bit of the magic.

Ellen officiated the ceremony said, "We are gathered here today because we are the only 300 people who weren't invited to Kim and Kris' wedding. It's been five weeks since your wedding, which is a long time for reality TV stars, so it's time to renew your vows."

Kris promised to "love, honour and keep up with" his wife Kim, Kris was also asked to swear to buy a copy of Ellen's new book.

Update Ryan Seacrest confirms Kardashian divorce

Ryan Seacrest has just tweeted: "Yes @KimKardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins."

If Ryan Seacrest says it is true, it must be real.

Bonus fact 1: According to reports the wedding cost over $10 million, which works out as $138,888 per day they were married. Ouch

Bonus fact 2: 72 days is the average gestation period of a guinea pig.
