They're one of the most notoriously private couples in the whole of showbiz, so when Chris Martin opened up about his relationship with wife Gwyneth Paltrow in a recent interview it was always going to make headlines.
Chris and Gywneth, who got married in 2003 and have two children – Apple, seven, and Moses, five – are rarely seen together in public and prefer not to discuss their relationship. This all changed recently, however, when Chris got all gushy during a chat with CBS Sunday Morning. Asked if it was true that he'd only been in one serious relationship, Chris replied, "That's right. I'm in it."
When his interviewer then joked that Chris had made quite a leap in scoring with Gwynnie, Chris quipped back, "It's a big leap? What, from being a loser, to going out with an Oscar winner? It's a giant leap. Let's face it: it's like winning the lottery."
Altogether now: awwww. It's nice to hear some sweetness coming from the mouth of Mr Martin – especially considering there had been recent rumours about the pair's marriage being in trouble. Gwyneth herself admitted to Elle in September that "sometimes it’s hard being with someone for a long time" and that "marriage is hard and not all rosy". However, if Chris' recent comments are anything to go by, it would appear that all is still well in camp Coldplay. And that's a very good thing.
