When you think of a famous couple, say, like, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, do you assume that he earns more than her? Weirdly, we do, but it's apparently not the case. In fact, there are a growing number of female celebrity breadwinners emerging. Katie Price has been the breadwinner in her last three relationships, putting more cash into the kitty each month than Leandro Penna, Alex Reid and Peter Andre. Far from being a surprising statistic, it turns out that men are actually keen on the idea of a woman earning the most dosh.
According to a new survey, three out of four British men aged between 16-35 dream of an easy life and (perhaps a bit less surprisingly) 85 per cent of men of the same age also dream of a life where they finish work on time every day and have dinner waiting for them when they get home. We bet they do.
The results, which were done in association with Pot Noodle’s hilarious advert about a man marrying a footballer and becoming a WAG for the Easy Life, show that just under half of the lads questioned (41%) would jump at the chance to be married to a successful partner so they would be able to lord it up and live an easier life. A further 52 per cent, meanwhile, claimed the most enjoyable part of marrying a successful woman would be the lack of worries and responsibility, with 17 per cent liking the freebies and gifts they would receive as part of being a kept other half.
After we did a bit of digging, we discovered that Julia Roberts, Katy Perry, Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman and Kim Kardashian are all the big breadwinners in their relationships. Do you think Katy takes home giant lollipops and free Cherry Chapsticks for husband Russell Brand? We like to think so.
