For someone who is ordinarily very light-lipped about his marriage, Chris Martin has been very chatty about Gwyneth Paltrow lately.
And this time he’s confessed that his marriage is a sham! *Shock*
“She's been a great beard for me," Chris told Ellen DeGeneres on her chat show.
“It's not really a real relationship? She just pretends that she's your wife?” Ellen asked.
"Yeah, it's hard to believe," replied Chris.
Of course Chris was just joking. Hilarious, huh? Who knew Chris Martin was so gosh darn funny? Not us.
Chris also admitted that he got into music to shake off his nerdy image.
“I think a lot of people like me and Jonny [Buckland] join bands because we were really not doing so well.”
“With women?” Ellen said.
“With anyone!” laughed Chris.
Winning the Lottery
As we said just a moment ago, Chris has been less shy about talking about his famous wife, admitting recently that marrying her was like winning the Lottery (awwww). "It's a big leap? What, from being a loser, to going out with an Oscar winner? It's a giant leap. Let's face it: it's like winning the Lottery."
Coldplay really aren’t the sort of band who need to talk about their private lives to sell records, so maybe Chris is finally just chilling out a bit? We think it’s super-cute when he gushes about his wife.
