X Factor host, Dermot O’Leary has given us a lovely little surprise over the past few weeks, by coming onto the stage busting some cheeky dance moves. What began as a Halloween trick has become a weekly treat – and we love it.
Dermot spoke to This Morning about his dance skills, he said, "It’s firmly tongue-in-cheek, I don’t actually think I can dance! I think we’ll do it until the end of this series and then knock it on the head."
Oh, but we don’t want it to stop!
Staying in the UK
The newly engaged presenter has hosted the X Factor since 2007, despite getting the knock back from the US version of the show earlier this year Dermot is happy with his role here.
"It’s been my most enjoyable series yet. I just think the judges have been terrific this year. I think the fact there’s not a favourite [contestant] makes it quite fun."
The mighty judging panel consisting of Take That’s Gary Barlow, N-Dubz star Tulia Contostavlos, former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland and music manager Louis Walsh is a force to be reckoned with. In fact, they’re so feisty that there’s constant rumours of their back-stage feuds. If anyone can tell us more about this, it would be X Factor’s main man Dermot. He said, "They really do care about their acts, and when another judge criticises their act, they take it to heart. They fight for their acts and I think that’s a good thing."
Well said Derm.
Wedding bells
On last week’s show, Xtra Factor host, Caroline Flack announced Dermot’s engagement to long term girlfriend Dee Koppang, but it appears that this isn’t the way they wanted it to be revealed."I asked her to marry me in New York. And the first thing she said was, 'when we announce it, can you announce it on This Morning? Can you make sure it’s with Holly and Phil?'"
Sorry Dee, Caroline got there first, but don’t get too upset, you’re still marrying Derm after all.
