Katy Perry turned down covering for Kelly Rowland on the X Factor

Katy Perry has revealed that she turned down the chance to stand in for Kelly Rowland on the X Factor last weekend. Kelly was stuck in America because she had a sore throat but sadly Katy couldn’t cover for her because she was stuck performing a gig in Aberdeen.

Katy told Real Radio, “I would have loved to but I just didn’t have time. I might have felt out of the loop as it’s not at the beginning. I wouldn’t want to be an unfair critic by not knowing the artists’ history.”

Surely she should have been judging them based on their talents, not their back stories? Do you think Katy would have been better than Alexandra Burke?

    i know im late with this comment but i take offence to the "stuck in aberdeen" comment- she had a gig and didn't want to disappoint those who had bought tickets to see her not that she was stuck-we didn't keep her hostage (btw i wasn't at the concert but it is nice to see that some stars are taking their job seriously rathen than drop out at the last min)
