Cheryl Cole: “Doctors told me to gain weight
It’s been over a year since former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole was treated for Malaria. The Girls Aloud singer contracted the illness on holiday in Tanzania, and has never really spoken out about that time in her life. Now Cheryl has opened up to In Style about her illness, admitting that doctors ordered her to put on weight and stop working so hard,
“I had to take good care of myself and I was told to stop exercising and to gain weight to get well. I just ate everything,” reveals Cheryl.
“The malaria also ate away at my muscles, but let’s not get grim – it opened my eyes to health and things I hadn’t focused on before. It’s now less about work, work, work and more about making time to chill and be with my friends and family.”
