We doubt there will be many that could forget Amy Winehouse’s signature style. With a love for ballet pumps, cropped trews and tie-froth shirts, Amy rocked cute 50s like no one else. Even her beehive put all other beehives to shame.
Today British clothing label Fred Perry has unveiled its final collection with the late star. Only available online, Amy’s collection references her fierce love of 1950’s Americana and art deco.
Pieces include sweet Pink short-shorts, trademark Harrington jackets and Argyle sweater dresses in girly Pink shades. Cropped shirts are covered in kitsch prints featuring juke boxes and cool Cadillacs.
Proceeds and royalties from the clothes will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, set up by the singer’s father, Mitch.
Fred Perry decided to release the line to coincide with the release of Amy’s posthumous album, entitled Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures.
Mitch has said he, understandably, felt “very emotional” when he listened to the album. Speaking on Daybreak he said, "The estate, which I'm a part of - my ex-wife and I - we could decide to put it out or not put it out, and when we went to listen to the album it was a very difficult time for us. It was very emotional. But we had to sit through it and after the first couple of songs we sort of calmed down a little bit. Our son was there as well and we all had to be in agreement that the album was of the same quality or better, in fact, than Frank and Back to Black, and we were more than pleasantly surprised."
