Anna Friel is forking out a helluva lot of money while she works out whether to settle down in either the UK or America. As well as all of the flights to-ing and fro-ing from the States, she pays for her daughter, Gracie, to be privately educated in both countries.
Anna, who hails from Rochdale, near Manchester, initially moved to the US to star in Pushing Daisies, and won two Golden Globe awards for her performance on the show. However, since the programme ended in 2009, she’s had some trouble making up her mind on where to stay.
Hey, humblebrag!
In a classic example of the humble brag, she told The Telegraph: “I have been back in Britain for three weeks and now I really have to fly over to the States and talk about the various offers that have been made – and there have been an awful lot.”
“It’s all very exciting, but because of Gracie every decision I make has to be weighed up carefully. She didn’t ask to be from a broken home, so she must be my priority in all things.”
Anna split from Gracie’s dad, actor David Thewlis, late last year, and is now seeing Notting Hill actor Rhys Ifans. “I don’t want her schooling to be disrupted, so at the moment I’m paying two sets of school fees; fees here in Britain and fees to keep her place open at her school in LA. Fortunately, she’s happy in both environments and it’s quite funny to hear her accent change accordingly.”
Perhaps little Gracie's so good at changing her accent that she could follow in her mother's footsteps, earn a shedload as an actress, and eventually pay her back for those hefty school fees?
