Last night, we went to see The Saturdays live in London at their arena tour. But we totally got more than we bargained for from the evening - because while we were busting out some moves to All Fired Up, we were told that the lovely Ms Una Healy had got engaged to her rugby fella Ben Foden. Smileyface.
It was Rochelle Wiseman – band mate and good pal – who announced the news to a packed out O2 arena, while Una looked on in tears (happy tears, of course). She then (as any happy soon-to-be-a-bride lady would) proceeded to show off her engagement ring. Bless!
Ben, 26, hasn’t kept his plans for a proposal a secret. In fact, it was just recently that he let slip he was waiting for the right moment.
He revealed, “I am planning to go down on one knee during the next few weeks. It won't come as a total surprise because we've been discussing marriage for some time. It will happen and I want lots of children.”
In fact, he’d even planned what ring to get her!
“I plan to do it right with a simple, classic item from Cartier so she won't refuse me.”
Una and Ben, who are expecting a little girl in the New Year have also talked about their shock at finding out they were going to be parents – but say they genuinely couldn’t be happier with the news.
“We weren't trying for a baby,” Ben admitted. “But we'd talked about starting a family and we're in a loving and committed relationship, so it wasn't a massive shock. I was over the moon. I plan on spending the rest of my life with Una.”
And now they not only have a little baby Foden’s imminent arrival to celebrate but they also have an engagement party to throw. And there’s another celeb lady who’s woken up with a big grin this morning. Congratulations Una and Ben!
