We all breathed a sigh of relief in the Heatworld office today as we heard the news that one of our favourite singers George Michael is “feeling amazing” after recently suffering from a “touch and go” case of pneumonia.
The previously poorly star was rushed to hospital last month just before he was due to perform in concert in Strasbourg, France. After being ill for a month, the singer spoke out to his public today to tell worried fans how much better he is doing, and thanked the doctors and nurses in Vienna that were at his aid.
The Freedom singer even said that he plans to play a gig solely for the staff at the AKH hospital in Vienna where he was treated. George explained his scary last month to press outside of his home in North London today, saying,
“I am very weak but I feel amazing…It was by far the worst month of my life, but I’m incredibly, incredibly fortunate to be here.“ When asked what it was that kept him going, George went on to say,
“My family, the thought of all the people I still had to play to, the fact that I’ve been so lucky and the fact that I still have plenty to live for. I’ve had an amazing, amazing life and if I wasn’t spiritual enough before the last four to five weeks, then I am now…I spent the last ten days since I woke up thanking people for saving my life, which is something I’ve never had to do before. “
George has now returned home for Christmas so that he can spend time with boyfriend Fadi Fawaz.
We’re so pleased to hear that the pop icon is feeling better and seeing as it is Christmas, we think he should play us out…
