We imagine the queen ma’am almost choked on a forkful of turkey and stuffing this christmas when she heard the news that Kate Middleton would not be attending the annual family boxing day shoot!
Each year the family engage in a shoot, however this year it appears as though the new family member was against this tradition, and decided not to attend.
Many have started to speculate the reason for Kate’s absence, but all fingers point to the newlywed being approached by animal rights organisations, trying to dissuade the Duchess from attending. A source says,
"At the moment Kate is very much the bright new star of the Royal Family and the Palace is keen for her to keep her nose clean…Activists have begged her not to join the shoot. No-one wants to see her caught up in a scandal so soon."
Kate isn’t the first royal to show disdain towards the bloodsport, it was a belief also regarded by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. Organisations such as PETA have commended Kate’s decision, saying,
"The Royals have always had a hard time adjusting to social value…Rather than emulating Diana the Huntress, perhaps the British public is seeing a new Kate who is taking after Diana, the Princess of Hearts.”
Even The League Against Cruel Sports got involved in the news, saying, "We are pleased that Kate has decided not to take part in the annual bloodbath."
Well, what do you Heatworld Citizens think? Was the Duchess right in not attending her new family’s tradition?
