Kian Egan and Jodie Albert welcome a son

It’s baby news time… Westlife star Kian Egan has become a dad, wife Jodie Albert has given birth to a baby boy yesterday. Awwww.

The overjoyed new dad posted on Twitter, “Out little baby boy 'Koa' was born today at 6.10pm. Jodi Albert is an amazing woman. Love them both so much. Both doing amazing, so proud. X”

It wasn’t long before Kian’s Westlife bandmates were on Twitter sending their congratulations to the new parents, and interest in the birth was so great that Koa was trending on the micro-blogging site. Koa’s famous at just a few hours old – crazy!

As for Jodie and Kian’s unusual baby name, it is Hawaiian in origin and means bold or brave. And as far as crazy celebrity baby names go, it’s certainly not the most bonkers we’ve heard.

A big congratulations to Jodie and Kian!

    Congrats to them but it has to be said, Koa? It reminds me of koala. Why do they do this to the poor kids?

    HUGE congrats to Kian & Jodi! Koa is unusual, yes, but I think it's a nice name for a boy-it must mean something very special to the couple. At least he's not called Morrocan! I wish them all the best.
