The legal battle between Leighton Meester and her mother is at an end! Christmas really is the season of goodwill, although maybe not on the Meester household!
The trouble started when Leighton decided to sue her mother Constance Meester for allegedly using money meant for Leighton's brother's medical expenses on cosmetic procedures for herself – including hair extensions and Botox!
Constance then hit back with a lawsuit of her own; her counterclaim asked for $3million in damages, as Mrs Meester claimed she’d “sacrificed her happiness” to support Leighton’s acting career. Er, isn’t that what being a parent is sort of about – supporting your children to fulfill their ambitions? Constance also claimed she was owed money as part of a verbal contract, and that she was due $10,000 a month in support payments from her Gossip Girl daughter.
Not all that surprisingly Leighton’s legal team compiled an argument against Constances’ lawsuit, and she no longer wishes to defend her claims in court. We’re sure that poor Leighton is relieved to hear it!
