Here’s a story to make you a little bleary-eyed. As you’re probably all aware, it’s Christmas time. This is a time for family, food, presents and more food. So, it warmed our cockles to hear that cheeky chap Olly Murs wants to end the long running feud between himself and his brother Ben.
It has been two years since the pair have spoken as Olly missed brother Ben’s wedding to appear in the semi-final of the show that shot him to fame;The X Factor. After Olly missed the big day, Ben sold his story to a newspaper and ranted about how his brother’s want for fame and fortune had created a family rift, ouch.
However, Olly has now spoken out about the rift and says that he wants to reconcile, but doesn’t believe that it is up to him to step up to the plate. He says,
“It’s just the same as it was two years ago. I’m sure in the future we will chat and speak about it but at the moment it’s the same old…It is so sad. This is Christmas but it was the same last year and I hope in the future we will reconcile. I don’t know if I will give the olive branch, as he was the one who sold the story, so I don’t think it’s my place to say sorry.”
Despite finishing as a runner-up on the talent show that grips the nation for all of the right (and sometimes very wrong( reasons, the singer has achieved great success with his music and presenting career. Olly went on to say,
“I think he knows what he has done so I will have to wait for him to come round and apologise. He hasn’t yet…hopefully in a couple of years we will sort it all out. Fingers crossed we do.”
Well we hope the two can make up, it is Christmas after all.
