Puberty – waiting to become a fully-fledged, bona fide woman while your body goes haywire – can be pretty troublesome.
So it’s nice for all the flat-chested teenage girls out there to know that a woman blessed with two of the best assets we’ve ever locked eyes upon - how can you NOT look? – was once so worried about her flat chest that she prayed to god for him to bestow her with some decent-sized norks.
The actress, who voices Kitty Softpaws in new kids’ film Puss In Boots, told Graham Norton on his BBC show: “I was the youngers in class and all these girls were starting to get them [boobs] and I wasn’t getting anything – I was really scared.”
“I was getting teased a lot because everyone was older and I was the skinny tomboy.”
Rather than sit about on her presumably very skinny bottom doing nothing about it, she sought divine intervention: “I went to a church that had a saint that was supposed to do a lot of miracles.
“I put my hands in the holy water and went: ‘Please Jesus, give me some boobs’”
Although as far as miracles go it’s not quite up there with the feeding of the 500, it definitely appeared to work for the actress!
She also spoke about how she could hardly understand English when she arrived in the US: “I was upset by one review because it said ‘Salma Hayek, bombshell.’"
“I thought they meant the movie bombed because it was so bad.”
